Frequently Asked Questions
How do i prepare for my visit?
Before your visit, the study coordinator will provide you with instructions about the location and time of your visit, as well as instructions for any forms or records you should bring or review before the visit. If you have questions before your visit, call or text us at 808-375-3785 or email us at fprch@queens.org.
is it safe to participate in our research?
It is our priority to keep all of our research participants safe. All FPRCH research is reviewed and monitored by formal review boards. The role of these review boards is to ensure that participants are treated ethically and that safety is prioritized. Before you consent to joining the study, our study coordinator will discuss any risks or benefits related to your study involvement, and you’ll be able to discuss any questions with the study team and the study physician before you choose to participate.
How long do studies last?
Every study is a little bit different. Sometimes participation lasts only for one visit or one survey and other times we will be seeing you periodically for a year or more. Most importantly, you can choose to end your participation in a study at any time. If you decide you no longer want to participate in a study, you can inform our study team and we’ll take the proper steps to discontinue you from the study.
what are your hours?
We offer study visits between 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday. We do not see research participants on most major holidays or on weekends. Sometimes we can accommodate visits during non-business hours but this is arranged on a case-by-case basis and cannot be guaranteed.
Can i find out the results of the study?
We appreciate when our research participants are interested in our findings! Every study is different and sometimes it takes several years for results to be finalized. However, if a research participant is interested in receiving summary results, we will do our best to share those findings when they become available. If you receive medical tests as part of your involvement in the research study, your results will be shared with you.
